Notes about .22 Rifle Outdoor Practices
2018-08-23_200405_00025_4H_22Rifle.jpg

For outdoor practices we do NOT use SignUpGenius. We only use a signup for indoor practices because we had fewer lanes and less space to work with.

For outdoor practices we can have 20 shooters per relay. For the first relay, the cut-off will be 20 members signed in or 12:15 p.m., whichever comes FIRST. If you know that 12:15 p.m. is not attainable, please arrive no later than 12:45 p.m. for the second relay. As with all outdoor endeavors, practices are weather dependent.

Please note that we do NOT have practice on Easter, April 21.

Thank you to everyone who has signed up for Remind notifications.  If you have not, you can find instructions in your Orientation Packet or click here.

New Location for Archery State Shoot

The state shoot for Archery is moving locations this year. It will be held at 5000 Cuerno Verde Blvd in Colorado City, Colorado, which is about 20 miles south of Pueblo.

The schedule has been finalized as well:

Juniors on Saturday, August 17
Seniors on Sunday, August 18

Please mark your calendars now!

We did not have this information when the Archery Orientation Packet was created, so the State Shoot was marked “To Be Determined” in that schedule. The schedule has been revised, and you can download it or see the Archery calendar.

.22 Rifle Practices Begin Outdoors
2018-08-23_200405_00018_4H_22Rifle crop.jpg

Outdoor practices for .22 Rifle begin this Sunday, April 7.

For this first practice, we will start the day at 12:00 p.m. with some range cleaning, sorting through the shed, etc. so our relays will be a bit shorter than usual. All are welcome to help. Gloves can be helpful for this!

The regular schedule moving forward at practices is as follows:

  • Range Set-up will begin at 12:00 p.m. Many hands make light work on this effort. Those on the last relay of the day will help with break down

  • We have 20 slots available for each relay on a first come, first served basis. Anyone interested in shooting on the first relay MUST be at the range no later than 12:15 so that we may start promptly at 12:30.

  • We will always plan on a second relay but these have a greater chance of getting rained out with Colorado's summer afternoon weather.

  • Parents MUST stay for practice. Bring a chair (or something to sit on), water for all, sunblock/shade as needed especially as the summer wears on.

Make sure you are signed up for Remind (instructions here under Communication). We will send a notice by 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning if we are going to cancel practice.

See you at the range!

Orion Scoring System Training
OrionLogoWhiteBackground.jpg

Larimer County is now using a computerized scoring system for all our county shoots. To help this run smoothly, we would like to create a team of volunteers to help.  We have scheduled training for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17 at the McKee Building to teach volunteers how to use the system and to begin planning for our county shoots in July.

If you are interested in attending this training, please RSVP by clicking this link and filling out the form:
