4-H Believes in the Power of Young People
Here in Larimer County, our 4-H program serves approximately 900 youth ages 5–18 with 300 volunteer leaders through our partnership with Colorado State University Extension. For more than 100 years, 4-H has provided hands-on learning experiences in STEM, agriculture, healthy living, and civic engagement that develop critical life skills. Studies show 4-H youth are two times more likely to make healthy decisions and four times more likely to contribute to their communities.
Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.
Your gift helps us bridge that gap by offering hands-on learning experiences to young people.
One of our most popular and successful programs is Larimer County 4-H Shooting Sports, one of the largest 4-H shooting sports programs in Colorado. Through nine different disciplines including archery, rifle, pistol, shotgun, and muzzleloader, our certified volunteer leaders teach youth ages 8–18 about essential safety skills, marksmanship, personal responsibility, and sportsmanship. Members compete at county and state levels, with top performers advancing to the National Championships, developing confidence and discipline that extends far beyond the range and into adulthood.
