Archery County Shoot Details

Congratulations, Archery families!

We’ve made it to the county shoot! It’s been a joy working with you over these last few months. While we're not quite done with the year, this is when we celebrate you and your efforts!

Prepare for Archery County Shoot

Shade tents and water coolers will be available for participants and volunteers.

The bathrooms in the McKee 4-H Building will be open, and there will be port-a-potties nearby at the range.

Here’s a rough layout of the range for county shoot.

Participant Checklist

❒ Weather-appropriate clothing, following 4-H dress code
❒ Close-toed shoes
❒ Recent bathroom visit
❒ Recent snack
❒ Sunscreen applied
❒ Water bottle filled and in hand
❒ Binoculars optional (No rangefinders allowed)
❒ Gear on
❒ Bow
❒ Arrows (bring a few extra)

Spectator Checklist

❒ Close-toed shoes
❒ Sunscreen
❒ Chairs
❒ Pop-up tent. Please share shade!
❒ Food
❒ Water/hydrating drinks
❒ Camera
❒ Binoculars (No rangefinders allowed)
❒ Positive, encouraging support! These are kids! And the leaders are volunteers! 🍀

Schedule for the Day

7:00 a.m. – County Shoot Begins

Be ready to go at your check-in time.

You’re welcome to come early and stay the whole time, or arrive for your time slot and leave when you’re done.

We hope all available families will join us at our Potluck and Awards immediately after the county shoot.

Make sure you're signed up to receive Remind messages. We'll send out a message when we begin range teardown.

~11:00 a.m. – Begin Range Teardown

Help is appreciated! A Remind message will be sent when the teardown begins.

~12:00 p.m. – Potluck

Potluck will begin after the range and all equipment are put away.

Archery leadership and the extension office will provide:

  • A main dish

  • Plates, cups, utensils

  • Water

Please contribute an item for 10–12 people based on your Last Name as follows:

  • A–D: Chips and Dips

  • E–J: Dessert

  • K–R: Fruit or Veggie

  • S–Z: Salad or Side

Please RSVP to help us with a headcount for the Potluck!

(The Orion Scoring Team will complete the processing of scorecards and compile results during the potluck.)

  • Monday, July 21 – State Shoot Fees DUE for State Team Members

  • Thursday, July 24 – Archery Practice (All members welcome)

  • Tuesday, July 29 – Interview Judging

  • Thursday, July 31 – NO PRACTICE - Larimer County Fair

  • Wednesday, August 6 – Pick up Fair Projects

  • Thursday, August 7 – Archery Practice (All members welcome)

  • Thursday, August 14 – Archery Practice (All members welcome)

  • Saturday, August 16 – Archery State Shoot for Juniors

  • Sunday, August 17 – Archery State Shoot for Seniors
